Video FAQs

My hand keeps going numb at night. Should I see an orthopaedic specialist?
Yes if it wakes you up, lasts more than a couple of weeks, or makes you drop objects or lose dexterity. An exam can identify whether the cause is nerve compression, tendon issues, or something from the neck.
What conditions commonly cause grip weakness or numbness?
Frequent culprits include carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve compression, cervical radiculopathy, trigger finger, tendonitis, and arthritis. We pinpoint the source with a focused exam and, when needed, imaging or nerve studies.
What are the treatment options?
We start conservatively: activity changes, splinting/bracing, anti-inflammatories, hand therapy, and targeted injections when appropriate. If symptoms persist or function is limited, minimally invasive surgery may be considered.
How quickly will I feel better?
Timelines vary by diagnosis, but many patients notice improvement within weeks once the right plan is in place (for example, night splints for carpal tunnel). Your provider will outline milestones and when to escalate care if needed.
