Stan Griffiths, MD
Dr. Stan Griffiths is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He graduated with honors from Brigham Young University, where he majored in Microbiology. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, graduating with Honors and as a member of the National Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Griffiths completed his orthopaedic residency training at the University of New Mexico Affiliated Hospitals in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon completion of his orthopaedic training, he served four years as an orthopaedic surgeon for the Indian Health Service of the United States Public Health Service, on an Indian reservation in New Mexico.
Dr. Griffiths was raised in Shelley, Idaho, and returned to the area to practice orthopaedics in 1993.
Along with general orthopaedics, Dr. Griffiths has an extensive background in orthopaedic trauma, hand surgery, sports medicine, and adult reconstructive surgery. He has presented scientific papers on congenital hand deformities, shoulder reconstruction, wilderness medicine, altitude medicine and orthopaedics in a wilderness setting. Dr. Griffiths is a member of the Wilderness Medical Society and a member of the American Alpine Club.
He enjoys running, skiing, cycling, rock climbing, and mountaineering - having climbed peaks in North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. He supports local high school activities and sports, and frequently instructs and leads youth groups in rock climbing and mountaineering activities. Dr. Griffiths has three children, Brock, Randah, and Sean.
