Orthopaedic trauma care focuses on severe or complex injuries to bones, joints and soft tissues, often caused by falls, accidents or sudden impact. Our trauma specialists treat fractures and complicated injuries, helping patients heal properly and regain mobility. Injuries We Treat
- Fractures from falls, accidents and sudden impact
- Dislocations
- Complex fractures that involve a joint or multiple fragments
- Work injuries through our workers' compensation program
How Trauma Care Works
Care starts with an exam and digital X-ray imaging. Some fractures heal with a cast, while others are repaired surgically with hardware such as plates and screws. For breaks that are especially complex or have healed improperly, see difficult fracture care.
Recovery After a Traumatic Injury
Some uncomplicated fractures improve within several weeks, while displaced, complex or severe fractures can require several months of treatment and rehabilitation. Read when it is safe to return to activity after a fracture.
