Returning to Eastern Idaho
One of the reasons I returned to Eastern Idaho was to help improve the trauma system. I grew up here—went to elementary and junior high locally, and graduated from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls. My roots are in Shelley, Idaho. My dad taught industrial arts at Shelley High School and also practiced as an orthopaedic surgeon in Idaho Falls. Coming back meant joining—and eventually taking over—his practice. It felt like coming home.

Outside of work, I make time every week to get into the mountains: mountaineering, mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, climbing, backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing. My family calls this place home now. We love the outdoor lifestyle—skiing, hunting, backpacking—even if the winters are long. That’s part of what defines Eastern Idaho, and we embrace it.

If you need care, we’re here to help at Summit Orthopaedics.

Video FAQs

Do you treat both everyday injuries and complex trauma?
Yes. Our team manages everything from sprains and fractures to complex injuries, and we coordinate closely with local hospitals for urgent and trauma-related care.
I’m active in the outdoors. Do you help with sport-specific goals?
Absolutely. We tailor plans for hikers, skiers, climbers, bikers, and hunters—focusing on safe, stepwise returns to the activities you love.
How do I get started as a new patient?
Call our office or request an appointment online. We’ll review your history, perform a focused exam, and order imaging if needed. You’ll leave with a clear plan: home care or therapy, medications or injections when appropriate, and follow-up.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
Not usually. Many patients book directly. If your insurance requires a referral, we’ll help you navigate it.
