Why Dr. Logan Cooper Chose Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery
Dr. Logan Cooper shares why helping people move beyond long-standing hip or knee pain makes joint replacement surgery a rewarding specialty.
Description
Chronic hip or knee pain can gradually change how a person walks, works, exercises, and participates in everyday life. In this video, Dr. Logan Cooper explains why he chose total joint replacement as his specialty and what makes the work personally rewarding.
Many of Dr. Cooper's patients have lived with pain for a long time before considering surgery. For an appropriate candidate, replacing a damaged hip or knee can address the joint that is contributing to that pain. Dr. Cooper values being able to follow patients after surgery and see how improved comfort and function can change their daily lives.
Joint replacement is an individualized decision rather than a one-size-fits-all response to pain. Summit provides education about hip conditions and knee conditions, along with information about joint replacement surgery and nonsurgical treatment options.
If long-standing hip or knee pain is limiting your activities, schedule a consultation with Dr. Cooper at Summit Orthopaedics in Idaho Falls or call (208) 227-1100.

What made you choose total joint replacement as your specialty?
I love getting to do what I do because I treat people who have experienced chronic pain. When I perform a joint replacement, many of these patients have been in pain for a long time.
I get to remove the source of their pain by replacing the hip or knee, and then I get to see their lives change afterward as they become pain-free following surgery.
